About
MiraSingh04_edited_edited.jpg

Hello, I am Mira and I am a Registered Psychologist. I have the privilege of being both a Registered Psychologist and the President-Elect for the Psychologists' Association of Alberta (PAA). I have several years of experience working with individuals dealing with stress, inter-racial relationships, depression, anger, anxiety, self-esteem and identity, grief and loss, family and relationship issues, job tension, abuse and domestic violence. My approach to therapy is tailored to suit the unique needs and goals of each person with whom I work. I use a trauma informed approach and a culturally sensitive perspective to understand the biopsychosocial context of people's life stories.

I enjoy using an integrated approach to therapy to support my clients in  developing life-changing habits to cope with any of life’s various obstacles. My therapy sessions are designed to understand personal issues and help resolve experiences involving trauma. I provide clients with effective tools to help them deal with the challenges they will encounter throughout their lives.

I am comfortable working with people from all walks of life and enjoy working with adults, couples and children. Members from the LGBTQIA2+ and BIPOC communities are welcome.

About Me

My Approach to Therapy

Trauma Informed

Trauma causes our brain to remain in the fight, flight, or freeze mode. Experiencing trauma can occur at any stage in our lives. When it occurs during childhood it impacts our brain development causing us to react to using instinct when we feel stress. Constantly being on alert is damaging to our physical and mental health.

Rewiring our brains can result is trauma resolution, improved emotional self-regulation, increased use of coping tools and techniques, and a brain that has been rewired for healthy reactions.

Cultural safety is more than just accepting others regardless of our differences. It is having an understanding of how culture, race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status affect our mental health and wellbeing.

I create a safe space, free from judgement and bias, welcoming clients from all walks of life. I provide my clients with support specific to who they are and their unique life experiences.
